Math.sign

Returns the sign (or signum) of the given value.

Syntax

sign(value)

Parameters

• value

  A value.

Return value

• If the value is positive, returns 1.
• If the value is negative, returns -1.
• If the value is zero, returns 0.

Example

[Math.sign(-42), Math.sign(0), Math.sign(42)]
